Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalogue, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy your order request. Should there be a query when we receive your order request we will contact you by email.

If you have a promotional code enter it when you check out.

Our online card processor is PROTX, (www.protx.com) for high security processing of your transaction. This is further enhanced by the introduction of Verified by Visa & Mastercard SecureCode.

Paypal payments are accepted from confirmed and verified addresses.

Where Paypal cannot return a confirmed or verified address and or an Internet service provider, (i.e. a non generic email address e.g. hotmail, yahoo, bigfoot etc.) we will require additional information to prevent fraudulent usage.

You can also send your credit card information via phone, fax, and snail mail, but we recommend using the shopping cart via the web site as this is the safest method, (see our security details below).

Dual pricing when in use is for information only. Your card provider will convert at the rate of exchange on the day of processing which is out of our control.

Please be aware that hand crafted items are unique in the style and manufacture. In these instances there will be a variation of shape, colour and uniformity between similar items. Natural items and certain products have distressed characteristics that are feature of the item.

Pay and collect (by appointment) only is payable only by cheque written in our presence with a valid cheque guarantee card or the exact total in cash as we hold no change.

As an internet bsuiness all calculations are made through the website only subject to verification. Verbal quotes are estimates only. Manaul processing of orders taken by telephone may be subject to a service fee.

Errors of a typographical nature and ommissions excluded.

Shipping And Handling This is done for you by the ordering system dependant on your location and service required.

Please be aware than unless you pay for an insured service we cannot accept loss or damage once despatched to you.

We aim to get items to you in 7 working days; normally much quicker. On the rare occasion that we cannot deliver within this time, we will notify you by email, giving you the option of cancelling the item if you prefer not to wait.

However, if you have an urgent order, [providing items are in stock], we can send to you using one of the faster delivery services from the drop down menu.

Where special pricing on shipping is indicated it is for the UK (excluding Highlands and remote areas) only and delivery method at our discretion.

Highland and remote areas attract a high shipping cost that other UK areas and are exluded from any special pricing. We are sincerely sorry that we are unable to absorb the substantially higher shipping cost to remote areas.

Shipping cost outside the UK, (including Highlands and remote areas) are calculated according to delivery location.

As delivery charges fluctuate due to shipping and fuel surcharges the delivery cost given is NOT an absolute pricing.

Whilst small differences we may absorb we reserve the right to ask for any increases that apply.

Please be aware of import regulations and restrictions in your own country and of any import duty and or taxes that may be due which you would be responsible for.

As we do not hold any previous card details, as you placed your card details on the bank processing server we will need to contact you by telephone for your card details to finalise the sale. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Delivery Schedule

Your order will be processed as soon as it is received. Some items we may be wait for new stock to arrive in which case we will email you and keep you upto date with your order progress.

In most cases you can expect your order in seven working days in the UK and most other destinations. Sometimes the shippers may take a little longer but please allow up to 14 days. Especially at busy periods and international orders.

Next Working Day Delivery is dependant on the time your order is received by us. Orders received by 8am can be despatched the same day for the next working day delivery. Please ensure that someone is at the address to receive the delivery. The delivery can be at any time during the next day. However please contact us first to ensure that the item is in stock and can be delivered in the time frame required.

We use a number of delivery services and they will attempt to redeliver for a second time should there not be anyone to sign for the package. A card will be left on the first occassion. Third or subsequent delivery attempts are chargable unless you collect for yourself from the collection point.

Please note that we must have a signature for receipt of delivery and cannot accept instructions to leave unattended. Should you wish to nominate a neighbour to accept delivery please indicate this in the special instructions box.

Claims for non deliveries must be made within 14 days.

International orders are handled as promptly as our domestic orders. Speed of delivery is dependent on the shipping service you choose.

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

We may in some circumstances offer an upgrade at no extra charge.

Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is included.

Credit Card Security Credit Card Security - the 'techie' part for your information.

We use PROTX (www.protx.com) to handle our on line card processing. Please feel free to visit their site should you wish to.

All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128-bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

The shopping cart we use, Actinic provides the ecommerce functionality within this site. Actinic Catalogue uses an enhanced form of encryption considered safer than SSL. For full details on the security process in use, please visit, www.actinic.co.uk for a very detailed explanation. However, in overview, the process used is as follows:

Encryption occurs on the buyer's PC and decryption only occurs on the giftsline.com order processing PCs. At no stage is the transaction decrypted whilst it travels over the Internet, or whilst it is stored on our web site. In addition, orders (not credit card details) are only stored on our web site until we download them - something we do several times a day.

The encryption process is conducted using a Java applet. The Java applet is subject security restrictions of their "sandbox" which restricts their ability to communicate across the Net to only the web site that they are downloaded from. Decryption is carried out on our PC only after orders have been downloaded from the web. The encryption technique used falls into two parts. The first is to use Diffie-Hellman key exchange to agree a 128-bit key for use by the SAFER block cipher. The Diffie-Hellman key currently used is 256 bits and this will be increased further in the future up to 1024 bits, depending on performance. This encryption method is used on the following fields only:

Credit card number

Credit card type

Credit card expiry date

Other fields in orders placed using the system are also encrypted using Safer with a 128-bit key, but using a fixed key built in to the software and common across all instances of the software.

Additionally our card clearing partner, PROTX, (www.protx.com) handle all the sensitive data on their own secure web site, making the process so safe that you will have no concerns as to the robustness of security. We, nor they see or know your card details.

Verified by Visa & Mastercard SecureCode are active on our site and provide additional security measures to prevent unauthorised use.

Guarantee Simply ask to return the item for a returns note number.This number must be written on the original invoice and returned to us with the goods.The ordert must unused and undamaged in its original packaging and in a saleable condition for a refund (less the S&H-P&P) return delivery is borne by yourself.

Returns must be made within 5 days of the returns note number being issued. We reserve the right to reject a return should this not be complied with.

In the case of goods proven to be faulty after inspection, or goods which we have recalled we will refund the full purchase price of the goods plus postage and packaging.

When returning goods we advise you to insure against loss or damage in transit; we will not credit for goods that are subsequently lost or damaged. The cost of this service is minimal and is payable at the Post Office Counter AT THE TIME OF POSTING.

Please note that batteries where supplied are a courtesy and are not covered by any gurantee as we are unable to verify their life expectancy.

Items purchased on special offers e.g. buy 1 get 1 free, x% off 2nd item when buying the first the return will only be entertained for the entire offer. Or an exchange on a like for like basis for the specific item in question. This is subject to the previous returns procedure above.

Where items have had the P&P (S&H) subsidised, i.e. free postage or special rates in the event of a return the actual postage will be deducted from any refund.

Faulty Goods

If the goods you ordered turn out to be faulty or arrive in a damaged condition, you must inform us within 48 hours. If faulty, we will provide you with your choice of refund or replacement as soon as possible, and no later than 28 days of agreeing to provide you with the refund. If however, the goods returned are found not to be faulty we will return the item(s) to you charging the return P&H plus an administration fee of 15% subject to these costs being prepaid.

Where goods left with us being unpaid in this insatnce we will use the approved disposable procedure for uncollected goods. Where the term uncollected is generic for returned shipping.
